Engineering Manager

Reports to: CTO

We are building powerful technology at the forefront of autonomous vehicles, robotics and augmented reality. Our engineering teams are rapidly growing and we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop one of our amazing teams.

As a fundamental part of our engineering team, you will manage a team of engineers who work on exciting new projects and help us scale our existing stack as we look to go global with our software.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the best engineering practices are in place in your team and company-wide
  • Bringing management experience and know-how to your team
  • Leading execution of team deliverables, organizing standups and sprints, and working with the team to achieve Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
  • Providing mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Hands-on technical involvement in exciting and innovative projects
  • Working closely with our executive, product and engineering teams to define how our products are delivered and refined over time
  • End-to-end project management
  • Support effective communication across teams to achieve results.

Requirements

Experience and Skills:

  • 1 or more years experience of managing and growing a team of 5+ people
  • 5 or more years software engineering experience
  • Experience of working on the backend (e.g. Go, C++ or Python) and the frontend (any flavour of Javascript)
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Physics etc)
  • Ability to lead multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity building external products and services
  • Support effective communication across teams to achieve results.

Product Owner

Reports to: Product Manager

We are building powerful technology at the forefront of autonomous vehicles, robotics and augmented reality. Our product team is rapidly growing and we are looking for an experienced Product Owner with a passion for working at the forefront of a highly disruptive industry.

As a fundamental part of our product team, you will help innovate and execute product initiatives across the company, working closely with our executive and engineering teams.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning product processes end to end, including ideation, strategy, execution and release
  • Defining and prioritizing product features, crowdsourcing customer and colleague ideas, and suggesting product enhancements to improve user experience
  • Becoming the voice of your product within the company and to the outside world
  • Performing quality assurance on your product
  • Helping to champion product culture and agile processes within the company
  • Mentoring other product team members
  • Support effective communication across teams to achieve results
  • Help the team to achieve Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).

Requirements

Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years experience of product ownership/management
  • A passion for using data and metrics to inform the success of products
  • A familiarity with market research and consumer behaviour
  • Problem-solving and deep analytical skills
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Startup experience
  • Contributed to building and establishing product culture
  • Familiarity building internal products and services which have no UI.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics or augmented reality
  • A degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths etc.)
  • Experience as a technical product manager
  • An understanding of business models and pricing models
  • Experience in technical products and the B2B industry
  • Hands-on experience with web technologies
  • Previous experience in product managing an SDK, APIs or research products.

As a fundamental part of our engineering team, you will research and execute on exciting new projects within computer vision and machine learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively with our existing computer vision specialists to keep us at forefront of this field
  • Establishing and communicating computer vision advancements and provide expertise to key internal functions; SLAM, autonomous vehicles, augmented reality, machine learning and AI
  • Creating ground-breaking solutions to challenging technical problems that will directly shape the effectivity of various products
  • Support effective communication across teams to achieve results
  • Help the team to achieve Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).

Requirements

Experience and skills:

  • An advanced understanding of SLAM systems
  • Knowledge of any of the following: Optimisation, CERES, deep learning, geometric modelling or localization and mapping
  • A Masters or Ph.D. degree in relevant field

  • A solid understanding of Linux operating systems and containerization (e.g. Docker).
